Altruistic Behavior Institute and Sam Oliner's new book:  What Kind of Future Will Our Children Inherit?
Thursday, November 12, 2020, 7:00pm-8:00pm

Please join Ronnie Swartz, Director of HSU’s Altruistic Behavior Institute, for a collective conversation about the institute’s current projects, including Sam Oliner’s latest book, What Kind of Future Will Our Children Inherit? Planned for publication in Fall 2020, Sam’s new book considers the direction our world is going in and concentrates on areas of the greatest concern regarding our future as a species such as war, violence, hatred, genocide, the status of women, families, climate change, heroic acts, love, ecumenism, apology, forgiveness, and suffering. A copy of Chapter 1 is included. Ronnie also invites discussion about other institute initiatives like “We Live Here,” which focuses on local stories of stress, resilience, and inclusion; naloxone training and distribution to reduce opioid overdoses; and Evidence-Based Panhandling which aims to improve community safety, reduce conflict with law enforcement, and increase panhandling returns.
