Temple Beth-El

From the words of Rabbi Aryeh Hirschfield, OBM:
“The Holy Ba’al Shem Tov taught that there is a radiance to all of creation, that the Divine is constantly speaking to us in all that we sense, in all that we think, and that there is virtually no event that occurs within us or that we perceive in the world around us that is without meaning.  Every word we speak creates something, for better or worse, inside us or in the world around us.  So with every thought we think.

It is the task of all sacred paths to teach us how to become aware of the Divine nature of reality and to shape our consciousness in ways that will help to bring more of the light of Divine into ourselves and the world.”

Reb Aryeh’s words set out for us something great to aspire and work towards.  Perhaps it will take lifetimes of work but in the end we’ll all get there one way or another, after many mistakes.  In this class we will explore basic Jewish concepts that address why we’re here and what is expected of us and what our role is in this long chain called Judaism.
