Climate Crisis/Selichot  Events
I hope Temple Beth El members will join our Social Action Group in participating in two important climate rallies tonight:
Friday, September 20th at 12pm, Arcata Plaza – Support students taking part in the Global Climate Strike.
Friday, September 20th from 3pm to 7 pm, Eureka Courthouse – Support local efforts as part of the 350 Movement – https://world.350.org/humboldt/about/.
Rabbi Bob Rottenberg will speak at both events, and he will also lead the Friday night service at TBE following the rally, approximately 7:30pm.
This event falls on the weekend of Selichot, the Saturday night in the month of Elul when we gather to pray for forgiveness.  I had planned to offer a climate-themed Selichot service on Saturday, Sept 21, but that service has been cancelled so people can attend these other important events in the Selichot spirit.
Some people will go to the Arcata rally, at noon on the Plaza, but we will not have our TBE banner there. Many of us will go to the Eureka rally, at the County Courthouse on 5th and I Streets, with banner. Come for all or part of either event, and add your voice and presence to stop climate change.
