A friend has asked me to consider taking a group from our community on an exploration of Israel to meet her peoples, to learn from her teachers, and to see her sites. So, this might be a great opportunity for you if you’ve not yet been there or if you just want to go back. Some limited financial aide might be available…no promises though.
My vision includes taking you to the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem where you’ll get to pray at and touch the Kotel (the Western Wall), explore its tunnels, and get an over the top tour of the Old City and the ancient City of David. Also in the Old City, there are many learning opportunities if you’re so inclined.
I’d also like to show you around the Old City of Tzfat (Safed) in the north of Israel to see the ancient graveyard where several of our sages are buried, take a mikvah (if you’re so inclined), and explore the Old City streets. There are many learning opportunities here too. For those who like art and to shop, this is the place.
Also on my ideal itinerary are Tevaria (Tiberias), the Golan Heights, Ein Gedi, and The Dead Sea. Oh, and of course taking a swim in the Med. in Tel Aviv.
I envision designing a trip to meet the interests of the participants who I’m thinking would be adults from 18 to 120 years old. That said, I’m open to your ideas.
