A Conversation with Filmmaker Elizabeth Rynecki, the director, producer, and writer for the 2018 film, Chasing Portraits. This inspiring film is about one man's art and one woman's unexpected path to healing. Follow an American woman’s emotional quest to find the paintings of her Polish-Jewish great-grandfather, lost during World War II.
Watch the movie on your own and have an intimate Q&A session with this independent filmmaker and discuss her journey of family, the film, book, and her great-grandfather's art.
NOTE: The film Chasing Portraits needs to be watched prior to the talk, either by purchasing the DVD or streaming. It can be streamed on iTunes, Amazon, OvidTV, or the DVD can be purchased. Information about the film can be found on:
Film – Elizabeth Rynecki The book is also available in local bookstores, on Amazon, or on Audible.
Elizabeth's grandfather, George Rynecki, was one of the founders of our Temple. Footage in the film includes Temple Beth El, Rabbi Naomi and some members of congregants. We are grateful for this very special opportunity to engage with Elizabeth.
