TBE Theater Fundraiser - July 28

As a fundraiser for Temple Beth El, the Redwood Curtain Theater will hold a benefit performance of The White Card on Sunday July 28 at 2:00 pm at the D Street Theater in Eureka.

The White Card - a play by Claudia Rankine

The White Card is a powerful play by Claudia Rankine.  When a White family invites a prominent Black female artist to dinner, it ignites a powerful dialogue that unearths the nuanced truths of race and Whiteness, inviting us to question our understanding of society today. In this captivating play, Claudia Rankine delves into the shadows of systemic oppression and the complex dynamics of race in America.

This special performance will be followed by a facilitated discussion, led by Sarah Peters Gonzalez, a local theater artist and teacher (Cal Poly Humboldt, Dell' Arte) with extensive diversity, equity and inclusion training.

Note: to provide a space for the immunocompromised and most vulnerable in our community, this performance is a special 'Masked Matinee', where mask-wearing is REQUIRED.

Tickets are $20 general and $18 students and seniors.

To support TBE, and attend the facilitated post-performance discussion, please purchase tickets for the Sunday, July 28 2:00 pm matinee.
